Lull Over & Book Published – Time to Practice What I Preach

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The lull is over, and my book is finally published – time to practice what I preach. Last week, I wrote about being on a plateau, but during that time, I managed to write an entire book in just one week. Yesterday, it was published, and today, I’m launching it. I was driven by a sense of urgency, knowing plateaus and lulls don’t last forever – and sadly, I was right. Since Friday, I’ve felt the strongest effects of PSP so far. Yet even in this difficult moment, I’m proud of what I accomplished.

I dedicate this book to patients and caregivers and their loved ones suffering from terminal illnesses, especially PSP, and to the families of those who tragically lost their lives yesterday in Sydney. May they find comfort and strength in the midst of pain.

The heart of my book rests on two principles: faith and resilience. Faith has carried me through life’s toughest challenges, helping me make the right choices and maintain a positive attitude. Now, as things get harder, I lean on faith more than ever to guide me and my family through the months ahead. Alongside faith is resilience – my stubborn determination to keep going despite setbacks. These qualities have been tested many times, and they remain my greatest resources today.

Publishing the book quickly was the right decision. I didn’t know when the lull would end, and honestly, I couldn’t have written this book now as I did last week. Timing matters. If you’d like to read it, the digital version is available for free or just $1, and the paperback details are below. Three things remain true: my faith is stronger than ever, my core values remain unchanged, and I will continue blogging about this journey, bumps and bruises included, because it helps me and, I hope, inspires others.

This book shares ten key moments of faith in my life – stories I hope will encourage anyone, regardless of belief. Life is unpredictable. Illness, loss, and hardship can strike without warning, but faith and resilience can help us rise above the darkest times. That’s the message I want to share. Thank you for reading, and if you choose to buy the book, know that it comes from a place of hope and strength. Let’s walk this journey together.

Hello! I am Ben Lazarus

Originally diagnozed with Parkinson’s it has sadly turned into PSP a more aggressive cousin. I am 50 and have recently retired but enough of the sob story – I am a truly blessed person who would not swap with anyone on the planet, principally because I have the best wife and kids in the world (I am of course completely objective :-)). Anyway I am recording via the Blog my journey as therapy to myself, possibly to give a glimpse into my life for others who deal with similar situations and of course those who know me.
