RUNNING & RAISING FOR PARKINSON’S

RUNNING & RAISING FOR PARKINSON'S

3 years ago I was diagnosed with PD and I have been walking/running and doing exercise everyday since. I have decided to run a 10k race to raise money for two charities that I respect and that have helped me. One of the two is The TLV Medical Center’s Parkinson’s research unit and the other a support charity called Tikva 4 Parkinson’s. I have published a blog regarding my journey these last three years which can give you more context – https://wordpress.com/view/fightingparkinsonss.com

Please click on the links in the pdf or the links below . I am passing donations directly through the charities to avoid fees. The charities will update me on the amounts given but not the names due to confidentiality so please feel free to leave a comment here with messages of support

  • Tel Aviv medical center (Ichilov) – one of two hospitals that helped diagnose and treat me is heavily involved in PD research. They supported me through hours of tests and treatments of all varieties including genetics (ruled out). I am looking to donate funds to its research center which
has a focus ongait analysis and wearable devices, genetics, biomarkers and neuroimaging.
  • Tikvah for Parkinson – helps people with Parkinson sponsoring informational lectures on living well with Parkinson, providing personal guidance for the newly diagnosed, running formal and informal support groups, daily exercise classes onzoom, weekly speech therapy classes on zoom, and two 4- hour group sessions per week, which include speech therapy, fine motor therapy, and two hours of Parkinson’s specific exercises
