A Back Seat

I decided not to post for a few days, hoping to do what I truly wish for: to step out of the spotlight and simply enjoy the journey. Then I realized that most readers don’t actually know me personally, so I thought I’d share a short message.

My daughter just got engaged, and I am the happiest father alive (okay, it’s subjective-but it feels that way). This is her moment, not mine, and I want to spend the next few days as a quiet observer rather than a blogger. For now, I hope PSP takes a back seat while we enjoy the weekend together.

Soon it will be the Jewish New Year, and I’ll be leading the prayers-another moment where I hope PSP fades into the background.

I’m eternally grateful to G-d for these blessings and pray for protection and joy for this beautiful couple for the next 120 years-and the same for our two other beautiful children. May they each be blessed with love, health, and happiness for many, many years to come.

And please, G-d, may PSP remain in the background of life for as long as possible, allowing others and life itself to take the lead.

Wishing everyone a Sweet New Year. Whether you celebrate Rosh Hashana or not, I wish you the same sweetness and joy in the days ahead.

Hello! I am Ben Lazarus

Originally diagnozed with Parkinson’s it has sadly turned into PSP a more aggressive cousin. I am 50 and have recently retired but enough of the sob story – I am a truly blessed person who would not swap with anyone on the planet, principally because I have the best wife and kids in the world (I am of course completely objective :-)). Anyway I am recording via the Blog my journey as therapy to myself, possibly to give a glimpse into my life for others who deal with similar situations and of course those who know me.
