I am surrounded by the most amazing family and friends, yet there are moments in the day when I feel profoundly isolated.
I do not blame anyone. In fact, I want the people I love to continue living their lives fully. Even so, there are times when the silence of this journey feels overwhelming.
I often wonder what this experience is like for someone further along the PSP path. That thought frightens me.
My heart goes out to the loved ones of those living with PSP. They give everything they have, offering their time, energy, and unwavering devotion. Yet even the deepest love cannot completely bridge the distance created by a disease that ultimately must be endured from within.
I am blessed beyond measure by the people who stand beside me. Their love is a gift I will never take for granted, and I wish with all my heart that they did not have to walk this road with me.
What I never expected, however, was the profound loneliness that can exist even in the presence of so much love. I suspect many others living with PSP know that feeling all too well.
